VirtualAwesome Released + Video

VirtualAwesome is a cross-platform applications framework for advanced computer graphics and new user interfaces. It's most suitable for building 2D and 3D scenes, geometries, and user interface widgets. Unlike most interface toolkits it's way more freeform and designed for multi-focus interaction.

TouchKit Spark and SceneExpression

The nerds at nortd have been quietly locked away in a secret lair for months now and have some exciting announcements to make.

First, we have been super busy coding away on a new graphics programming library and its finally ready for its first pre-release. It's as hot and fresh as it gets. SceneExpression (http://labs.nortd.com/sx/) or if you prefer a pretty video, you can see that here: www.vimeo.com/videos/search:touchkit

Secondly, we have a new multitouch system; The Spark! (http://labs.nortd.com/touchkit/)

++++ SceneExpression Library ++++
There is a new kid on the block. We are happy to announce our first public pre-release of SceneExpression. We are super excited to share it with a wider community and invite you to take it for a spin. If you are already running Xcode, Visual C++, or Code::Blocks you are halfway there.

SceneExpression is a general graphics programming library for OpenGL that we will be using as part of future SDKs. The library is especially rad for experimental and production-level multitouch interfaces but is in no way limited to this. It also integrates keyboard, mouse, scroll wheel or pen tablet to arbitrarily nested graphics widgets. In a nutshell, it will rock your binary world.

Check it out, download it, use it, abuse it, break it and love it:

++++ Touchkit Spark Multitouch Hardware ++++
The Touchkit Spark is our latest multitouch hardware. It has been a while since we released the Touchkit Run in 2007. Since then many unannounced improvements have made it into the family. The Touchkit Spark is more responsive and more versatile which makes it ideal for a production-level environment.

The Spark expands the range and scope of multitouch. Spark is sexier while simultaneously having improved sensitivity and reactivity to touch. The Spark's larger screen size makes it ideal for multi user play.

The system is available now. Orders can be placed online.

TouchKit Spark

NOR_/D Labs has a new multitouch system and we needed an app to demo it. In response to Theo Watson's "Spinning Vinyl" and Todd Vanderlin's AR Scratching we hacked a quick "Multitouch Turntables." All of the following are written with OpenFrameworks.
